The Greyhound Skillnet in conjunction with IGB has the privilege to present the world renowned Australian Vet. Des Fegan, at the Crown Plaza Hotel Dundalk, 6th July 2008.

Des graduated from the veterinary college in Dublin in 1986. He has worked in Greyhound medicine and surgery since 1988 after moving to Australia and the Sandown Clinic. Des operated the Sandown clinic until 1997 when he returned to the UK and worked in the Walnut Veterinary Clinic in Milton Keynes until 2004. Returning to Australia, Des established the Walnut Veterinary Clinic in Cranbourrne, Victoria that is dedicated to the care of the racing and retired Greyhound.

John Kohnke, of Vet Search fame, will be visiting Ireland this summer and has agreed to carry out a seminar in conjunction with the launch of his new supplements.

John, a qualified vet with over 30 years experience in horses and greyhounds, has spent much of his career working at tracks in Australia with racing greyhounds.
He has himself owned greyhounds, written hundreds of articles, contributed to 5 books, and written a monthly Vet column in the Greyhound Star for over 26 years.

Network expansion and inclusion

The Irish Greyhound Skillnet will provide increased networking opportunities for members. A series of regional and national events will provide members with opportunites to meet and discuss the challenges facing them, and act as a platform for raising concerns which affect the greyhound sector in general.
