Welcome to the Irish Greyhound Skillnet: a training network promoted by the Irish Greyhound Board (IGB) along with leading industry members.
The Irish Greyhound Skillnet is a national training organisation dedicated to improving the overall competitiveness of the Irish greyhound industry, through training and development.
The Irish Greyhound Skillnet is funded from the National Training Fund through Skillnets Limited, the state sponsored body dedicated to the promotion and facilitation of enterprise led training networks and is a key partner in this process.
The framework for Skillnet training differs from other more traditional courses, in that it is tailored to the specific needs of members and takes place at times and locations suitable to them and their employees.
Due to overwhelming demand, the Irish Greyhound Skillnet are giving people a second opportunity to obtain the Specific Purpose Certificate (SPC) in Anatomy & Physiology of Greyhounds. Many members have requested another chance to complete this unit, before the remaining modules are run. Classes will commence later this month (June), in five different locations around the country:

Niamh Kenny, of the Irish Greyhound Skillnet, was recently interviewed on the prime-time greyhound television show, Greyhound View. The Skillnet helped to organise an Irish first: the Intertrack Challenge. This new racing initiative sees Limerick, Galway and Cork compete at a county level.
